Since early morning, it rains “cats and dogs” in the entire Istria Peninsula, hence also in our current station Rovinj. We are trapped in our camper which is not too bad for me (I can sleep everywhere!), but for humans this can be a real challenge. I suggested to my mom to make the best use of the enforced rest by writing a “rain blog”, while I am happily regaining energy by meditating on the floor – hehehe. By the way: I asked myself where the expression “it is raining cats and dogs” comes from. There are a couple of explanations of a possible origin, according to the Google research my mom made for me. The saddest one goes back to the European poor drainage systems in the 17th century, which unearthed the dead bodies of “cats and dogs” in heavy rains – knowing this, I think I will never use the expression again!
At least we had some time yesterday after our arrival to explore the closer surroundings of the campsite: there is a doggy beach, a doggy shower and a nice beach bar where we had a sundowner! In the distance, you can see the bell tower of the Church of St. Euphemia of Rovinj. And of course some first playing with my ball in the water. More to come, I hope (not of the rain, of course, but of fun, sun, games and hikes)!

Geeny,
Your mom takes great photos of you and your adventures. I like reading your blog too!
Cheers
Laura
