When driving from Bled to the direction of Piran we could already notice the change in nature: olive groves, wine grapes and pine trees, and in the distance the rough coast of Slovenia. Strong winds were playing with the water, producing high waves which really scared me! One of the waves even stole my holy ball!! But my mom bravely rescued it! It was not the first time that I lost my ball since I was distracted by interesting smells which I had to explore, but that is another story……
We are staying at a lovely wine estate called Monte Rosso which is located in the northwestern part of Istria, in the village of Crveni Vrh (which means Red Hill – Monte Rosso in Italian). I can run and play all day between olive trees, wine grapes, cherry and almond trees – perfect! And the tranquility is unbeatable, as long as I can stay with my mom. When it gets dark, the remoteness of the place can also be a bit scary. But I am a German Shepherd and stick to my duties to protect my mom – promised!
